Next Up For Bauer: Lernerville & Mercer

Mike Bauer gets his first win of 2017 and 2nd career 410 Sprint Car win on Saturday at Mercer Raceway Park.

Bauer attends Mercer Raceway Park on a weekly basis and knows the track quite well at this point, after winning many 305 Sprint Car races there along with the Track Championship in 2013. Bauer started his evening off with some issues and didn't get a qualifying lap in which lined him up to start last in his heat race. From last, Bauer went on to finish 3rd in his heat. The invert of 8 was pulled and this lined Bauer up to start 3rd in the feature.  Bauer battled back and forth with leader Brent Matus for most of the race and managed to pass him on lap 16 for the lead. Bauer went on to lead the rest of the 9 laps and grabbed his first win of 2017.

“I think we put on a great show for the fans," said Bauer. "It was a tight four-car battle for the lead for much of the race. Luckily, we were able to come out on top." 

Bauer is headed to Lernerville Speedway again on Friday after another rainout last weekend. On Saturday, Bauer will be headed to Mercer Raceway Park in hopes of finishing his evening off in victory lane once again.

“Hopefully we can build on our win with a strong finish at Lernerville," said Bauer. "I'm thankful fro all of the support we have that makes this possible."
