Two Race Weekend for Bova

Cody Bova prepares for a two-race weekend coming up on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, July 20th, Bova will be headed to Thunder Mountain Speedway in Brookville, PA for their first 410 Sprint Car race this year for $3,000 to win. Bova has been at Thunder Mountain Speedway a handful of times in his 305 Sprint Car and grabbed a win in 2015.  Gates open at 5PM, Racing at 7PM.  On Saturday, July 21st, which is also Bova’s Birthday, he will be headed to Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH for the OSCS 410 Sprint Car race for $2,500 to win. This will be Bova’s first time at Wayne County Speedway. Gates open at 3, Racing at 7PM.

“We are really excited to head to a couple different tracks this weekend,” said Bova. “I’ve been wanting to get to Wayne County all season so I’m really excited to finally get there.” 

Last weekend, Bova & family, along with a few others put on $3,500 to win 410 Sprint Car show at Mercer Raceway Park. 48 cars were present at Mercer for the first and most likely only time open this season. Bova lined up to start 2nd in his heat race and won his first 410 heat race. This placed Bova in the dash, where he started 1st and also won it.  Bova then lined up 2nd in the 30 lap, $3,500 to win feature, next to Jordan Ryan. Ryan ended up leading all 30 laps while Bova was 2nd for a few laps before having to pull off for a mechanical failure.

“There’s not much to be mad about from last weekend,” said Bova. “We got our first heat win and also won a dash over some really good cars. It is unfortunate that we had some tough luck in the feature but overall we had a really good night against a lot of really good cars.”
