Bova finishes off season at Eldora Speedway

Cody Bova picks up his 5th win of the season and looks forward to his final race of the season at Eldora Speedway this weekend.

This past weekend, Bova competed in the two-day Little Guy Nationals at Mercer Raceway Park. Friday night didn't start out well. Bova hit an infield tire during the beginning laps of his heat race when passing a car on the inside of the track, resulting in a damaged front axle among other parts.  Bova lined up 19th in the feature event. A first lap pile-up moved Bova up to around 14th to restart the 20 lap feature. Bova charged his way through the field to finish 4th.

On Saturday, Bova started 6th in his heat race and finished 3rd to make the redraw for the top 10 positions. Bova started 5th in the feature. After a few laps in, Bova took the lead and lead the rest of the 25 lap $1000 to win feature. This also secured Bova as the 2017 Cavalcade Points Champion for the 305 Class.

“This weekend was pretty awesome,” said Bova. “It was nice to recover from an incident on Friday night and come the whole way through to finish 4th. Saturday was awesome as well. Getting my 5th win of the season and tying Andy Priest for the most wins in the 305’s at Mercer is pretty cool. We have been really fast lately. Scott Priester gives me a rocket every time that I hit the track.”

Bova heads to Eldora Speedway with his 360 Sprint to compete in the Sprintacular event on Saturday with the NRA Sprint Invaders. This will be Bova’s first time at the famous Eldora Speedway. This is the last race on Bova’s 2017 Schedule.

“I've had this race on my schedule since March,” said Bova. “I'm really excited to make some laps at Eldora Speedway. I have been pretty competitive with my 360 this season so I'm really hoping I can pick up where I left off and have a good run. I can't thank my family, my crew, and all of my fans enough. I couldn't do it without all of you.”
