Dan Shetler looks forward to a two-race weekend with the All-Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park.
Shetler raced at Lernerville Speedway last Friday, with a field of 25 cars. He was the fastest car in hot laps and went on to get a second place finish in his heat race after starting 6th. This placed Shetler in the redraw for the feature, where he was placed in the 9th position to start. On lap 15, Shetler got together with another car and spun out and was forced to restart in the last position (which was 16th at the time.) Shetler moved the whole way up to 6th in the remaining 10 laps.
“We had a good car early in the night but misread the track and got the car too tight for the feature,” said Shetler. “We'll learn from it and use that to make better set-up decisions in the future.”
Shetler also planned to visit Mansfield Motor Speedway with the All-Star Circuit of Champions on Sunday but due to the weather forecast, he stayed home for the evening - which worked in his favor, since the rain came and canceled the evening before the main feature event.
Shetler will be headed to his weekly track, Lernerville Speedway, on Friday evening with the All-Star Circuit of Champions to see how he can match up against them on his home turf. Shetler picked up a win there at the end of April and has consistent runs since then. On Saturday, Shetler will be headed to Mercer Raceway Park with the All-Star Circuit of Champions as well.
“We're really looking forward to racing twice with the All-stars this upcoming weekend at our local tracks,” said Shetler. “We are anxious to see where we stand against some of the best in the business.”
