Next Up For Bova: Limaland & Mercer

Cody Bova looks forward to another two-race weekend coming up at Limaland Motorsports Park and Mercer Raceway Park after a successful weekend with the FAST Series in Ohio.

On Friday evening, Bova went to one of his favorite tracks with the FAST 305 Series, Attica Raceway Park. He started 4th in his heat race and fell back a spot to miss the transfer to the feature. He started on the pole of one of the B-Main’s and won by over a straightaway, having the fastest time in both B-Main’s.  This placed Bova to start 18th in the feature event. Bova consistently passed cars throughout the 25 laps and ended up 9th.

“Friday, the track was hard and dusty right off the bat and in the heat,” said Bova. “We had her a little too free forcing us to go back one spot and having to run the B. Scott had tightened the car up for the B and we won it by a straightaway. The track was pretty difficult to pass on as it would require a couple laps to make a clean pass. I just wish we had a couple more laps. We were definitely fast in the closing laps.”

On Saturday, Bova visited Fremont Speedway with the FAST 305 Series. Bova started 3rd in his heat and moved up a position to finish 2nd, putting him in the redraw for the top 12 positions. Bova pulled pill #8, placing him on the outside of row 4 for the feature.  Bova went backwards in the feature on the tricky racetrack to finish 11th.

“I love Fremont but it is one tricky track,” said Bova. “We were good enough in the heat race to improve one spot and finish 2nd. The track went away for the feature and we weren't expecting that. The car was too loose but I gave it everything I had and finished 11th. Although, I wasn't a top 10, the car was in one piece and able to race again this weekend. I'm looking forward to getting back to Fremont again soon. We need to put a good run together there!”

This Friday, Bova looks to head to Limaland Motorsports Park with the FAST 305 Series. Bova hasn't had any success at Limaland so far this season but he's looking to improve this weekend.  On Saturday, Bova will be headed to his home turf, Mercer Raceway Park, for their Saturday Night Live action in his 305 Sprint.

“We have been struggling the last couple of weeks,” said Bova. “We were originally planning to get the 360 tuned up for the coming weeks with the Patriot Sprint Tour but our 360 chassis is being fixed so we have planned to race the 305 FAST Series race on Friday at Limaland because we are 7th in points currently. We have been fast and consistent this season so hopefully we can keep that going.”
