Next Up for Shetler: Lernerville
Shetler with Dale Glessner's Welding Class at Lernerville |
Dan Shetler looks forward to heading back to Lernerville Speedway after a very successful evening there, two weeks ago. Shetler picked up his first win of 2017 on Friday, April 28th after making a pass with 3 laps to go to win the race. Lernerville Speedway will be the only track on Shetler’s schedule this weekend.
“We had a week off and that gave us a chance to get caught up on a lot of little things at the shop," said Shetler. "We're excited to get back to Lernerville and hopefully produce another solid finish. It's Meet The Drivers night for the Sprint Cars and I'm looking forward to getting an opportunity to chat with the fans before the races. I will also have posters to give away and autograph."
Two weeks ago, when Shetler won, he had a small “crew” hanging out at the track with him during the evening. A friend of his, Dale Glessner, is a teacher at Westmoreland County Community College and he brought his Advanced Tig Welding Class to the race track to show them different types of cars and to show them the opportunities available for welding and fabrication in the industry. Dale Glessner is also a member of Shetler's crew when he is available.
“It was the first time most of them had ever been to a dirt track,” said Shetler. “They definitely enjoyed the experience. Hopefully, we created some new race fans for the future.”
