Next Up For Bova: Raceway 7 & Fremont

Cody Bova found himself in victory lane on Saturday evening at Mercer Raceway Park after a very successful two-race weekend.

Bova traveled to one of his favorite tracks, Attica Raceway Park, on Friday, May 12th, where he competed with the 360ci NRA/GLSS Sprint Cars.  Bova qualified 9th for the event, which placed him to start second in his heat race.  He finished 3rd in his heat and missed the redraw for the feature by one spot, so he lined up 9th for the feature.  Bova completed 25 successful laps and finished 6th after passing Nate Dussel at the checkered for 6th place position.

“Friday night was a blast at Attica," said Bova. "The track was bitty all night long. We had a decent qualifying lap which put us on the front row of the heat, where we finished 3rd. The track was great for the feature. Scott Priester had the car hooked up and after running out of tear offs on lap 9, we were fast enough and good enough to ride around the cushion and pass Dussel for 6th at the checkered.”

On Saturday, Bova traveled to his home track, Mercer Raceway Park, where he finished his evening in victory lane. He was the fast qualifier and lined up 3rd in his heat race, where he went on to finish 2nd in the heat.  The invert was 4, which put him on the front row of the feature.  Bova led from lap 2 to the checkered flag and crossed the finish line over 5 seconds ahead of the second-place car. This was Bova’s first win of the 2017 season.

“We were the fastest qualifier and finished second in our heat at Mercer on Saturday," said Bova. "Once again, Scott had my car hooked up and we were able to slide past the leader on lap 2 and go on to win. The weekend was awesome and I look forward to getting back in the 360 with the PST and the 305 with the FAST Series on Saturday!”

On Friday, Bova will be traveling to a new racetrack, Raceway 7, with the 360ci Patriot Sprint Tour. Raceway 7 is a 7/16th mile, semi-banked clay oval and is located in Conneaut, Ohio.  This will be Bova’s third night out with his 360 motor and first night against the Patriot Sprint Tour. On Saturday, Bova plans to head to Fremont Speedway for a FAST Series 305 Sprint Car race.
