Next Up for Shetler: Lernerville Speedway

Dan Shetler spent his weekend in Central PA competing Friday and Saturday evening in his 410 Sprint Car.
Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway was a Yellow Breeches 500 Race with a large field of 37 cars entered. Shetler battled with brake issues all evening but overcome all obstacles thrown at him. He started in the pole position for his heat and missed the transfer, forcing him to compete in the b-main. He transferred through the b-main to start 23rd in the feature. After a few laps, Shetler made the decision to return to the pits and to save his equipment for a better night.
“We were hoping for a better result,” said Shetler. “But we are happy that we made the show against a great field of cars despite having some problems throughout the night.”
Saturday night, Shetler competed in the Spring Championship race at Lincoln Speedway. A tough field of 28 410 Sprint Cars entered. This was Shetler's first time back at the Pigeon Hills Oval after an absence of 8 years without competing there.
Shetler started 7th in his heat race and gained one position, putting him in the show. He started 17th in the feature with a great car and moved forward a few positions. Although, with 8 laps to go, Shetler ran out of tear-offs which caused him to lose a couple positions due to impaired vision. He ended up finishing in the 17th position.
“We had fun and learned a lot at Lincoln on Saturday,” said Shetler. “The team is excited to hopefully make a few trips back later in the season. We didn't have the best results this weekend but we learned a lot by running against the stiff competition in Central PA. We feel that we can apply that to improve our performance in the coming weeks.”
This coming weekend, Shetler plans to run Lernerville Speedway for their opening night on Friday, April 21st. Shetler had some great finishes at Lernerville all throughout last season and has his eye on victory lane. Saturday evening is still up in the air for Shetler. He plans to possibly race at Mercer Raceway Park for their weekly show or either Wayne County Speedway with the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars. All depending on the outcome of Friday evening and weather pending.
