410 Sprint Car driver, Dan Shetler, started his 2017 season off by visiting Port Royal Speedway this past Saturday. With 30 cars entered, he started his night off by starting 7th in his heat race and advancing one position, finishing 6th in his heat. This lined him up in the 18th position and he ended up advancing one position again, finishing the evening in 17th place.

On Sunday, Shetler visited Susquehanna Speedway for their season opener with 29 - 410 Sprint Cars total entered for the show. He started his night off with a flip when getting tangled up on the first lap of the heat race. Along with the help of a lot of people combined, they were able to get the repairs made and started 8th in the b-main. Shetler made it up to the second position and transferred into the main event where he started 20th.  He was up to 12th place but had a few struggles and ended up finishing in 16th.

“Overall, we had a good weekend. Unfortunately, we got tangled up in the heat on Sunday and had to start so far back,” said Shetler. “Thank you to all of the help from Josh & Dylan Kreasko, Dave Worrell, Nick Aldinger, Geoff Arnold, Jacob Hawkins, and Cody Huson for helping us get the car repaired for the b-main.”

Shetler looks forward to traveling to the famous Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, April 14th. Along with Williams Grove Speedway tomorrow, he will then he traveling to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday.

“I’m really looking forward to another two race weekend in Central PA,” said Dan. “Williams Grove Speedway on Friday where I’ve only raced at twice in the last five years. Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, where I used to run frequently but haven’t been there for 8 years. I’m hoping to learn some stuff by running against the best competition around so that we can apply it to our race team and continue to improve our program.”

Dan Shetler & his team would like to thank their following sponsors: Esposita Electric, Glessners Auto Body, SR&G Construction, Precise Racing Products, and their family & friends.
