Bauer started the night off with topping the qualifying charts with a time of 14.285 beating the second place qualifier by .2 seconds. Bauer also captured his first heat win of the year. The inversion of 6 was pulled to line up the feature and so that determined that Bauer would line up 6th for the feature. Bauer was off to a great start and ran second place to the winner, AJ Flick, the majority of the race until Bauer had contact with a spun out car, causing some heavy rear-end damage and flipped his car onto the side.
“We had a disappointing end to our night. I hate tearing stuff up but we did have speed," said Bauer. “All we can do is move forward from here.”
Bauer will be taking the weekend off to re-group since Mercer Raceway Park doesn't have 410 Sprint Cars on their schedule for this weekend. He looks forward to being back in action the following weekend at Lernerville Speedway for their opening night and Mercer Raceway Park as well.
“I’m excited to get back out there,” said Bauer. “Hopefully we can put a full night together.”
