Dan Shetler spent this past weekend in Western PA territory at Lernerville Speedway for their 2017 Opening Night on Friday and Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday evening.

Thirty-two 410 Sprint Cars were present at Lernerville Speedway on Friday for their Opening Night. Some new faces were there along with a few All-Star drivers as well. Shetler started in the 7th position of his heat race and he missed the transfer for the feature by 2 spots.  He lined up 8th in the B-main and had a great run to finish 2nd to transfer into the feature. From there, he lined up for the feature in the 18th position.  Shetler had a great 25 laps and showed his speed and consistency by finishing 7th.

“There were a lot of great cars here tonight,” said Shetler “We weren't very good early but got things going for the B and A mains. It felt good to get up on the wheel and pass some really good cars. I think our team showed we can overcome a bad starting spot and still remain competitive. We're looking forward to coming back next week and hopefully get the 7k in the top 5.”

Shetler continued his weekend by visiting Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday evening. He started 4th in his heat race and gained one position to finish 3rd. The invert set him to start in the 5th position for the feature. He dropped back a couple positions to finish 7th in the feature.

“We tried a few different things with the setup that we've been wanting to try,” said Shetler. “It didn't really work for the track conditions but we learned what we wanted to from it and feel that we can apply it to races in the future.”

Shetler plans on visiting Lernerville Speedway again this Friday for their Fab4 show along with Bedford Speedway for the All-Star Circuit of Champions show on Sunday.

Dan Shetler & his team would like to thank their following sponsors: Esposita Electric, Glessners Auto Body, SR&G Construction, Precise Racing Products, KAPtured Speed, and family & friends.
